When it was first developed, the P2 card had a recording capacity of 4 GB. Since then, its capacity has doubled each year to the current 32 GB. A single 32GB P2 card will store 32 minutes of HD data in DVCPRO HD or AVC-Intra 100 mode, or up to 64 minutes* in AVC-Intra 50 mode. With solid-state memory capacity increasing year by year, the recording capacity of the P2 card will also grow while its cost per GB drops.

In this way, the P2 card will continue to evolve toward greater ease and efficiency. In 2008, Panasonic plans to release a 64GB P2 card, again doubling the previous capacity.

*When AVC-Intra compatible products (AJ-HPX3700, AJ-HPX2700, AJ-HPX3000, AJ-HPX2000, AJ-HPX2100 and AJ-HPM110) are used in AVC-Intra 50 mode.
